As the world’s largest running event, the Wings for Life World Run 2025 once again sent a powerful message of unity with a record number of participants! 🎉

At exactly 1:00 PM (CEST) yesterday, 310,719 runners and wheelchair users from 191 nations in 170 countries set off to run for those who can’t. Never before have so many people taken part in a running event at the same time. In Germany alone, 49,628 people participated, and in Austria even 74,087 lined up at the start.

With a record donation total of 8.6 million euros, another important contribution was made toward finding a cure for spinal cord injury.

Germany’s reigning half marathon champion Esther Pfeiffer (59.03 km) claimed the global win for Germany for the first time, while in the men’s race, Japan’s Jo Fukuda (71.67 km) took his third global victory. 🏆
